Okinawan Rengokai World Traditional Karate /
Kobudo Championships Nomination

The Rising Sun Karate Club is proud to announce that
one of its members, 13 year old
Jason Boivin has been chosen to represent Canada at
the
2001 Okinawan Rengokai World Traditional
Karate / Kobudo Championships. Jason won his place on
Team Canada at trials held in Ottawa on
April 21 and 22, 2001.
The 2001 Championships will be held in Atlanta Georgia
from August 7 to 11, 2001. This is the first time that
the competition has been held outside of Okinawa. The
next tournament will be held in 2005 in Okinawa. Jason
plans on competing at both events.
In the coming weeks members of the Rising Sun Karate Club
will be holding a number of fund-raising events and
canvassing local businesses in an effort to raise funds
to help defray Jasons expenses.
The staff and students of the Rising Sun Karate Club
wish Jason much success and pledge their support of his
endeavors.
